“This is the very first prototype that Fender made for my signature model. It’s close but not quite what we wound up with. Slightly different color. Not sure what the pickups are. It’s a one of a kind!!”
-Chris Shiflett
This is the initial prototype Chris Shiflett Signature Telecaster that was sent to Chris in the earliest stages of the design process.
As with the signature guitar that came to market, this was modeled after Chris’ favorite ’72 Telecaster Deluxe. Notably, the bridge is a different style altogether—Chris later opted for the string-through-body Strat-style hardtail.
The pickups are early versions of the custom high-output humbuckers you’ll find in the signature as well.
On the aesthetic side, the finish is more of a transparent blonde than the opaque Arctic White finish that made it to market. Furthermore, there’s NO signature logo on the back of the headstock.
Comes with original hard shell case and certificate of authenticity
